There is a lot of good writers out there who can create fantastic worlds full of magical adventures. A lot of kids love this type of extraordinary stories because they contribute to their imagination, to dream, to grow up believing that some weird things are possible and, above all, they identify themselves with any of the characters of the story and they learn through them valors, emotions, how to act in front of certain circumstances, the importance of the friendship…

However, if we should mention one of the writers who most have influenced the younger ones in the last years it is without doubt J.K. Rowling. She has created a whole world full of magic, sweet products, Muggles… and soon some people saw in her stories the opportunity to win money. Actually, there is a bunch of all kind of merchandise with have relationship with the Harry Potter’s world or their movies, but do you know in which conditions are this goods made?

It seems that the cocoa beans used for make the famous chocolate frogs are picked by kids in the Ivory Coast. It is a bit contradictory that a product for increase the children dreams, hopes and joy it is in part manufactured by slaved kids which are sold to the companies at the early age of seven years old. Some people have asked Warner Bros., the company who have the selling rights of all the Harry Potter’s products, to make an investigation and decline the use of slaves and children in the fabrication of their products. But this company has decided that for them everything it is fine in the way it is. For this reason, it has been created this petition: to #endslavery and #freekids.
