Peru: Stop Poisoning the Amazon

Since June, Peru has suffered five separated oil spills on the main pipeline which crosses the Amazon jungle. This evens have supposed the leak of thick black clots of crude oil across the woods and swamps.

These continual oil escapes are causing sickness not only to the animals and fauna which lives in the area, if not, it also affects to the native people who lives close to the Marañón river banks. Many residents have fear that this leaks not only will damage the ecosystem. They are also scared for their health and their families.
